June 11th is the release date of the new album by BLACK SABBATH. Titled for unknown reason “13”, which sound as evil now as the record’s “The Wicker Man”-inspired artwork, it’s produced by Rick Rubin and sees the band’s original drummer Bill Ward ousted, for the lack of satisfactory contract, and replaced by RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE’s Brad Wilk.
So much for the overhyped reunion, but in order to add ado to it, the album’s inaugural single bears the title “God Is Dead?” and features the atomic mushroom as well as Friedrich Nietzsche on its cover.
Listed on Amazon for April 13th, it’s an almost 9-minute epic that’s rather long for Ozzy Osbourne‘s today’s measures, yet it’s a sign of Tony Iommi’s victory over cancer.
And there are tour dates – quite possibly, the veterans’ last ever trek. Here’s hoping for their good health and for the album to be robust, not only heavy and modern.
