BRINSLEY SCHWARZ - Happy Doing What We're Doing

BRINSLEY SCHWARZ –
Happy Doing What We’re Doing

The quintessential heroes of pub rock, BRINSLEY SCHWARZ sure have a lot of stories to tell if anyone nursing a pint in their hands or staying sober is willing to listen. Some of those tell tales became songs, of course, yet many a prosaic detail – left off for the sake of a tune – is no less fascinating. That’s why John Blaney, having talked at length with members of the group, recreated the scene on the pages of his latest book. “Happy Doing What We’re Doing” is to be published on October 9th to be tied-in with the CD release of the band’s “Live Favourites” – a concert recording previously available only as a download – and track the ensemble’s lifespan from their earliest days in amateur beat combos to the last gig at “The Marquee” club.

The story, therefore, is told in their own words. The book also includes a lot of photos and archive material from Ian Gomm’s personal collection, as well as a discography, timeline and period reviews. As for the album, it looks like this:
