While supergroups are plenty nowadays, freshly formed London trio BLACK PEARL are bound to attract a lot of attention right away because, based on their pedigrees, this band’s members seem poised to deliver the goods. Designed by prominent rock promoter and journalist Pete Feenstra and former WISHBONE ASH axeman Muddy Manninen as a vehicle for their songs, the project’s line-up was fleshed out with the arrival of singing guitarist Marcus Malone, famous for his creative partnership with Innes Sibun, and the planned EP quickly turned into a fully fledged, self-titled album that’s scheduled for April 22nd release.
As should be expected from a record with a provenance like this, “Black Pearl” that was laid down last year, features strictly original numbers which feel rather promising, with a prospect of taking the project into the future if their debut is successful enough.
