For some years, the future of legendary proggers CAMEL was uncertain due to the band’s leader Andy Latimer’s battle with cancer, so it was with great relief that the news of their short tour October came through. The group are to focus on their 1975’s masterpiece “The Snow Goose” which they will play in its entirety for the first time since that year’s Royal Albert Hall show. But now there’s more to the story.
The ensemble – consisting now of Latimer on guitar, bassist Colin Bass, keyboardist Guy LeBlanc and drummer Denis Clement – have re-recorded the whole album, having enhanced it with a stage perspective, as a teaser for their brief trek and are to release it on October 5th. No tracklist at the moment but it surely is based on the original running order. And now word on the participation of Jan Schelhaas who’s also in the line-up.
