CHINA SKY – the revival

It’s been more than 25 years since CHINA SKY released their self-titled album which featured “Some Kind Of Miracle” – almost a hit. It could be that if the band, formed by ex-MOLLY HATCHET guitarist John Ingram with Ron Perry at the mike and Richard Smith on bass, built on the momentum. But even their hard-edged Southern swagger didn’t stand the business pressure and, within the six weeks after the record was out, the trio broke up. Yet they were never forgotten and now are back in the studio. More so, they filmed a documentary about the group.

In the absence of Ingram, this time Perry and Smith reinforced their links with the Southern past having brought in their old guitar-playing friend Steve Wheeler, who was John’s colleague in THE DANNY JOE BROWN BAND, as well as MOLLY HATCHET’s drummer Bruce Crump, who almost joined CHINA SKY in 1998, while ivories-tinkler Tim McGowan served his time, among others, with ex-LYNYRD SKYNYRD Randall Hall. So the good credentials are in place for the band to present soon their new single “One Life” – with, hopefully, an album prospect. As for the “So Here’s The Story” video, here it is:
