Sense of melody and sense of humor could be the main characteristics of Deke Leonard who’s just passed away, aged 72. A leader of MAN, he was a driving presence on Welsh music scene, and he knew when to leave his band for good but not to leave the stage, which he, sadly, did now. With that group, and with ICEBERG, Deke cut cult classic records such as "All's Well That Ends Well" that many consider an epitome of Leonard’s live performances – at least, documented ones, but the guitarist was also a writer whose books, like "Maximum Darkness" that detailed life on and out of the road are an essential read for all interested in ’70s rock.
Leonard was more than just musician; Deke had a personality to admire and marvel at. He will be sorely missed.
