Given their futuristic stylings – and one of their classic platters called “Silent Cries And Mighty Echoes” – German prog progenitors ELOY may have chosen an unfortunate title for their latest endeavor. Many may assume that the “Echoes From The Past” album, which was released on June 23rd, is a compilation of the group’s golden oldies, but no – it brings to a close one of the most challenging Frank Bornemann’s projects: a trilogy about the legendary Jeanne d’Arc.
The rock opera first emerged on 2017’s “The Vision, The Sword And The Pyre – Part I” and was continued on “Part II” two years later, yet it took the veterans twice as long to come up with the finale. However, unlike the preceding chapters, this one doesn’t involve guest musicians, and the quintet delivers the last blow on their own.
