Another day, another loss… Glenn Frey, the man who progressed from the EAGLES’ bandido to a suave cat on solo terms, passed away, aged 67, after a battle with illness. A strong-willed person in a band of strong-willed individuals, Frey was a perfect creative foil for Don Henley, with whom he co-wrote “Tequila Sunrise” and “Desperado,” his signature song, and “Hotel California” wouldn’t be the same without Glenn’s contribution. Frey was rather successful on his own, too, and also, while keeping on recording, crossed over to acting, yet music remained Glenn’s main avenue, his latest album “After Hours” showing the veteran as a sensual performer of classic American material. Now, the artist came down from his fences and opened the gate – into eternity.
