British singer-songwriter John Otway has always had a special rapport with his fans and would go some distance when it came to promote his records – up to offering to visit a house of those who bought a special edition of the artist’s single and play it for them – so there should be no surprise in veteran’s embracing of a crowdfunding platform. In order to lay down the successor for 2006’s “Bunsen Burner” and make it properly, John has launched a Kickstarter campaign whose 3-tier goal is to record the album in progressively fitting studios.
In less then 10 days, the first two tiers have been surpassed – there’s almost £23,943 – pledged by now, with such enticing perks as a curry with OT or his concert in a backer’s living room already gone – so by the end of it, the campaign is to become one of the most successful on music playground. A lot of prizes are still available, though, so it’s quite time for some action without asking the very Otway question of “Tell me baby that’s not good for me?”
