“L.A.M.F.” – “Like A Mother Fucker” – was the only album that Johnny Thunders recorded with THE HEARTBREAKERS and, since 1977, acquired a cult status. It’s seen a few re-releases over the next four decades, all trying to improve the original mixes, but in November 2016 the classic was, for the first time ever, performed live. Joining singing guitarist Walter Lure, the only surviving member of that band’s line-up, on the stage of New York’s “The Bowery Electric” for two nights were MC5’s axeman Wayne Kramer, Clem Burke from BLONDIE on drums, and THE REPLACEMENTS’ bassist Tommy Stinson, with DEAD BOYS’ Cheetah Chrome among their guests. They’re bound to return on November 29th for another celebration, but the last year’s performances will see the light of day on December 8th.
