In her ’70s now, Judy Collins shows no sign of slowing down the glorious cross-genre pace that made this singer-songwriters dear to the heart of many a fan. Running through styles with ease, there’s one strain, though, which can be traced in most of the veteran’s records: it’s folk. And it’s Celtic music that lies at the core of “Live In Ireland,” Collins’ forthcoming CD and DVD recorded on September 29th, 2013 at Dromoland Castle. The programme, featuring many of Judy Blue Eyes’ hits and including duets with Irish singer Mary Black & NY singer-songwriter Ari Hest, is both a great addition to any collection and a perfect introduction to the legendary artist’s oeuvre.
The performance is to run on Thirteen NYC, WGBH Boston & PBS affiliates in the USA on March 5th and to be released on March 18th.
