It might have been a little less popular than its full-length predecessors, 1980’s “Ace Of Spades” and “Iron Fist” from 1982, and it didn’t produce perennials as those two platters did, yet 1983’s “Another Perfect Day” holds a special place in MOTÖRHEAD‘s discography. The ensemble’s only album to feature THIN LIZZY’s Brian Robertson, fresh out of WILD HORSES, alongside Lemmy and Phil Taylor, it’s a solid piece of work cherished by many a fan, so there’s no wonder in the record’s forthcoming reissue as 40th Anniversary Edition.
Not the first return of the album in digital form, this rerelease comprises two CDs, as was the case in its 2006’s comeback, yet this time what would see the light of day on November 3rd has more bonus tracks, including a few demo takes, and a concert preserved for posterity, and recently recovered, in Hull on June 22nd, 1983 – as opposed from the Manchester Apollo of June 10th that spanned the second disc before. More so, now it’s a fresh remastering of the classic accompanied by a solid booklet, especially impressive in a 6 LP version. About time to rediscover the platter.
