With the news on the October release of PINK FLOYD’s “The Endless River” – a David Gilmour project started with Rick Wright back in 1994 but getting a group billing now – the story of their former colleague went almost unnoticed. This story started in 2008, when Roger Waters cut a piece for the Fundación Alas, a charity institution supporting the health and education programs for the Latin America children, and was continued in 2012, when the bassist filmed a video for the song, called “The Child Will Fly,” in Buenos Aires, where he played a series of “The Wall” shows.
Featuring, among others, contributions from Shakira and Eric Clapton, it’s a haynting ballad, but the video is ghostly in a different sense, as it keeps appearing and disappearing from YouTube. Yet here it is, for your viewing pleasure.
