NUCLEUS Box Their BBC Sessions

Ian Carr’s NUCLEUS was a British jazz-rock institution which, despite the presence of many an outstanding player – including stellar guitarists Chris Spedding and Allan Holdsworth – and the recent attempts to anthologize the band’s classic output, still isn’t celebrated enough. One of the reason’s of the ensemble’s criminal underestimation might be the scarcity of their concert recordings, with those available documenting their ’80s experiments, rather than the glorious ’70s forays into the unknown – and the forthcoming box set “Live At The BBC” should address this issue.

Comprised of a dozen discs, it spans 1970-91 and contains more than 13 hours of music, with CD 10 holding improvised works that have never been previously released. Out on November 26th, it’s going to be a treat and a thrill for all the fusion aficionados.
