Pat Mastelotto, Markus Reuter And Trey Gunn Create A Love Front

Having played together in various configurations, Pat Mastelotto, Markus Reuter and Trey Gunn are quite logically and rather telepathically tuned into each other’s train of creative thought, so it was a little wonder their trio TU-NER‘s debut "T-1 Contact Information" turned out to be one of the last year’s delights. What’s surprising, however, is that this album will soon see a follow-up – too soon some would have said if a record titled “T2: For Lovers” didn’t originate onstage, reflecting the ensemble’s concert shows of 2023.

Its first pieces started appearing on the group’s Bandcamp page in time for Valentine’s Day – possibly inspired by THE MASTELOTTOS’ "A Romantic's Guide To King Crimson" from 2021 – and keep on amassing with the prospect of presenting the collective’s entire effort on May 3rd, the date the platter is out in physical form, and on the verge of the trio’s US tour. The results are interesting to say the least – read the review.
