It’s been almost a year since Phil Soussan released the "Nobody's Fool" single as a precursor to his new solo album, a long-overdue follow-up to "No Protection" from 2011, and while one could assume the bassist may have abandoned this idea to dedicate all his time to LAST IN LINE whose “Jericho” was recently released, that’s not the case.
A few days ago, Soussan issued another single, titled “A World Divided” which, as Phil still states, is from a series of songs that will eventually become part of his third full-length offering, the cuts the veteran envisions for himself rather than other artists he’s written for. As vigorous as any number Soussan put out under his own name, the fresh song, in Phil’s words, “deals with the current state of things but it does have a positive message, that we should follow our heads, hearts and trust our instincts” – and it features the no less legendary musician, Soussan’s old friend Simon Phillips, on drums, who also accompanied him on "Vibrate" back in 2006, as well as HELLYEAH’s Christian Brady on lead guitar, so there’s a lot to enjoy here.
