Among the many charges of producer and songwriter Gary Miller are artists as diverse as Kylie Minogue and David Bowie, but his latest project is most dear to Gary’s heart for many reasons. It’s a whole album of Sting songs with a noble aim of abolishing child slavery.

The first track laid down for the record was “So Lonely” by THE POLICE that has none other than Slash on it, and Fergie has just confirmed she’d do vocals for this. Miller says he has a few other big names in the pipeline, including Steven Tyler who’s shown interest and Paul Rodgers, and although they’re not confirmed yet, Miller’s “very positive” they will do it. Meanwhile, at the time of writing these lines, the aforementioned guitarist emailed the producer from Africa to say he wants to do another song.

Gary’s forming a non-profit to fund the making of the album and he feels it’s going to be a world-wide project. But why Sting? “I just liked the songs and there are things quite relevant in some of his lyrics,” says the producer, but this is going to be an ongoing thing so I can do this with anyone”. So there’ll be more news.
