Last year saw no less than two releases from RENAISSANCE – one from 1973 and from 1974 – that were followed by the band’s recent performance. Soon, though no particular date was given, the archival streak is to be picked up by a DVD/3CD package “Live At The BBC” comprising concert recordings from the ensemble’s peak period, 1975-1978. All of them taped in London, these shows are well known to fans, especially the “Sight & Sound” programme which will take up the DVD and the first CD, with the rest of audio discs housing documents from two previous years, and a fragment of a 1978 appearance.
Given the involvement in preparing the release of singer Annie Haslam, bassist Jon Camp and drummer Terry Sullivan – the surviving members of a line-up on this package – it should be a thing to behold, and hold dear.
