There’s a unique rapport between Steve Hackett and DJABE, the Hungarian band incorporating the British guitarist for years in a way which goes beyond those collaborations where have guests send in their parts rather than actually playing together. Attila Égerházi’s ensemble and Steve do exactly that, as documented on a recent live document; yet “Life Is A Journey – The Sardinia Tapes” – scheduled for an October 6th release – is to take the artists’ experience a tad further. This CD/DVD combo preserves for posterity the collective’s improvised session and fleshes it out with a fuller mix and behind-the-scenes and on-stage footage, all freshly recorded.
