Even though THE PRETTY THINGS effectively bade farewell in December 2018 when the veterans played their final show in London’s “O2” where David Gilmour and Van Morrison joined in to pay tribute to one of the greatest British bands, many fans hoped there could be a studio album further down the road. Sadly, the passing of Phil May on May 15th, 2020 shattered that hope, yet September 25th will unexpectedly see the last-ever release from the group, “Bare As Bone, Bright As Blood”: their first all-acoustic record. To be precise, the group on this selection of classic blues numbers and originals consist solely of singer May and guitarist Dick Taylor, which can detract from the vigor the two put in their swan song. Quite a way to go!
To be issued on CD and colored vinyl, the album will run as follows (read the review):
1. Can’t Be Satisfied
2. Come Into My Kitchen
3. Ain’t No Grave
4. Faultline
5. Redemption Day
6. The Devil Had A Hold Of Me
7. Bright As Blood
8. Love In Vain
9. Black Girl
10. To Build A Wall
11. Another World
12. I’m Ready
