As we reported a few days ago, on May 1st John Tout, the former keyboard player with RENAISSANCE had passed away. He stays in the memory of many, though, and that’s how Andy Powell, the guitarist of WISHBONE ASH, remembers John:

“I am saddened to hear of the passing of John Tout. John was a highly gifted musician, and his abilities were intrinsic to the music of RENAISSANCE. He played on our album, ‘Argus,’ on the song ‘Throw Down The Sword,’ and I returned the favor by playing on ‘Ashes Are Burning’ for RENAISSANCE. Despite his musical stature, John was an extremely humble and amiable guy and I always enjoyed his company. My sincere condolences to his friends and family.”
