It’s been a little more than three years since Kim Simmonds left this mortal coil, leaving a stunning number of recordings, with and without SAVOY BROWN, and a lot of untold stories – the tales he was planning to share with the world in a book yet didn’t have time to finish the tome, which will finally be published on January 21st.
Titled “Street Corner Talking” after the aforementioned band’s 1971 album, spanning a little more than 200 pages and presented in hard cover, the volume promises to unveil a great slice of British blues history. It’s not Simmonds’ rubbing shoulders with the likes of Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page, his more successful peers, that’s in the heart of this book; it’s Kim’s personal view of what was happening on both shores of Atlantic over six decades. With contributions from his widow Debbie and a foreword by legendary producer Mike Vernon, here’s a potentially riveting reading.
