It’s been close to a decade since the world last heard of BROKEN HOME, an ’80s band who emerged in the aftermath of British MR. BIG’s breakup to release two albums and proceed to the brink of oblivion, where the ensemble existed until "Fragments" arrived in 2018. After that, it was quiet with regard to both groups – until now, when the former collective’s new single “Georgia” began getting played on various stations.
How come this song sounds familiar and why did it appear on the waves now? Let’s ask Mr. Dicken, a man behind both bands.
“The song ‘Georgia’ was originally on the 'Bitter Streets' album,” explains Jeff, “but my brother and his partner wanted to beef it up a bit and got Amy Winehouse’s producers to rework the song. My friend Ernst Olivarius, who looked after NAZARETH, put me in touch with Trond Betten who wants to release a couple of singles and then, possibly, an album depending on how it all works out.”
So it looks like the fate of a new BROKEN HOME longplay is in the listeners’ hands now.
