Bob Catley Puts Out Geographically Puzzling Live Album

Last year saw an impressive reissue programme of Bob Catley‘s solo albums – impressive not only in sonic terms but also in terms of artwork that got replaced in favor of Rodney Matthews’s fantastic creations the singer’s been associated with since his MAGNUM days. However, the reemergence of the veteran’s late-’90s-early-’00s oeuvre will, on April 24th, receive an unexpected continuation in the form of a concert recording that didn’t seem to appear before.

But there’s a puzzling discrepancy between this platter’s title and its provenance, because what’s titled “Far Away… Live In Concert (Recorded In Holland)” is, in fact, a document of the singer’s performance at the Lokerse Festival in Belgium on August 8th, 2000, in support of Bob’s then-recent “Legends”: briefly surfacing soon after the show on VHS, now the report from the stage gets transferred to CD and vinyl for the first time. A pity, there’s no DVD or Blu-ray bonus on the new variant.
