One may assume that, with a career spanning more than six decades, Colin Blunstone would have quite a few concert albums under his belt, given the ZOMBIES warbler issued a dozen platters outside of the band, yet this is not the case. To date, there has been but a single release like this, 1995’s “Live At The BBC” corralling the veteran’s archival outings. Fortunately, such a strange situation is about to get remedied, as November 21st will see the appearance of the “One Year And More” set, a result of the singer’s gracing the stage of London’s Union Chapel on November 25th, 2024.
The two CDs and DVD, featuring the same tracklist as befits a document of a full show, offer an impressive selection of tracks from Blunstone’s repertoire, with ZOMBIES’ perennials, the fantastic “Old And Wise” he sang for ALAN PARSONS PROJECT, and covers sharing space with more important numbers: those from Colin’s solo albums, first and foremost his debut, “One Year” from 1971, performed on that night in its entirety with the stellar band whose ranks included former STRAWBS Chas Cronk and Dave Bainbridge. Unfortunately, the only combined audiovisual package will come in the form of a limited edition box set, where the three discs are accompanied by memorabilia.
