Neil Carter who always came across as quiet, if not shy, character didn’t seem to be rock star material yet a rock star he did become, playing with and writing for such distinctive acts as WILD HORSES, UFO and Gary Moore. Without Carter’s “Empty Rooms” our world would be a poorer place in emotional terms, because this is but a single songs everybody should know Neil for. However, the veteran was determined to leave it all behind for a more or less serene life, and he achieved that goal – and then his past came calling, first with Gary Moore wanting Neil to come back to the fold, and then, after Carter effectively retired, UFO needing him to return to action. And now the things Neil Carter’s set to do perfectly balances the scales of action and serenity.
