For a band with a three-decade history THE FLOWER KINGS, who are ever so often on tour, don’t have a proportionate number of concert albums, their first recording from the stage dating back to 2000, when “Alive On Planet Earth” brought the Swedes’ natural sound to those who could not attend their shows, and their last, “Live In Europe 2023” from 2024, divided from the previous one, “Tour Kaputt” from 2011 by a long gap. This is why it seems quite celebratory that the veterans are ready to release a new one soon.
Slated to be issued on January 15th on CD and digitally, “Live In Stockholm 2025” is a document of the ensemble’s first performance of their latest European trek, capturing the group playing in their homeland of May 29th of the titular year. On that night, they brought to the public no less than four pieces from the then-fresh “Love” album and a few earlier cuts, so it’s really special.
