Since KRAAN returned to the fray in 2000, the Krautrock veterans have added not one but two chapters to their story, the first ending with the band’s third post-reunion record, “Diamonds” from 2010, and the second starting with their fourth, “Sandglass” from 2020. And now the Ulm ensemble seem to go for another, post-gap hattrick, as April 17th will see the release of the Germans’ latest endeavor which picks up where 2023’s "Zoup" left off.
Still featuring three original members – guitarist Peter Wolbrandt, bassist Hellmut Hattler and drummer Jan Frides – and, thus, maintaining continuity of fusion-tinged prog they’ve been pursuing since 1970, the collective are said to up not only the usual elements of the trio’s heady brew on the album alluringly titled “All In” but also their pop appeal. Intriguing.
