Most famous for acting as an associate producer of several Stevie Wonder’s classic albums, “Innervisions” arguably the best of those, Robert Margouleff‘s claims to fame are quite many. The American master of sonics also worked with Richie Havens and Randy Newman, THE DOOBIE BROTHERS and THE ISLEY BROTHERS among other artists, more often than not providing, together with Malcolm Cecil, innovative synthesizers programming. As a result, the Grammy Award-winning engineer has a lot of tales to tell – and he has spun these story into a book now.

Titled, rather lengthily, “Stevie Wonder, Devo, The Synth Revolution, And My Life Behind The Music” and available now in a paperback and audio versions, Margouleff’s autobiography, co-penned with Jim Reilly, delves into the secrets of the TONTO – The Original New Timbral Orchestra – setup and his affinity for electronic music, as well as many relationships Robert established over the years, and keeps establishing, because the veteran is still active. He began as a filmmaker, so there are memories from behind the scenes too, alongside yarns of his early adapting immersive audio and of founding a company which sculpted surround sound for many a movie.
Must be a gripping read.
