Jimi Jamison: R.I.P.

He might not be the singer on “Eye Of The Tiger” but to many an AOR fan the name of Jimi Jamison has become synonymical with SURVIVOR. Sadly, that’s what he wasn’t, as the American vocalist passed away on August 31st, aged 63, from a heart attack. Jimi, who DME’s intermittently been in touch with, was a great artist – a testament to that could be an invitation from DEEP PURPLE to replace Ian Gillan in 1989 – and a nice person. He will be sorely missed.
