Bert Jansch’s BBC Archives To See A Box Set Release

He was more than merely a musician’s musician; without Bert Jansch rock music as we know it wouldn’t have existed. His influence spread far and wide and left an imprint on folk, prog and heavy genres, most famous British guitarists listening and learning from the master from the mid-’60s onwards, as Bert’s work with and without PENTANGLE keeps on giving. Unsurprisingly, Jansch frequently guested on various radio programmes over the decades, and on November 4th the legendary artist’s recording for Beeb will be issued as a box set.

Titled “Bert Janch At The BBC” and comprising the whopping 147 solo tracks that span the period from 1966 to 2000 and are laid out across 4 LPs or 8 CDs, but will also be made available on the great late player’s Bandcamp, the set runs over 8 hours. There are previously unreleased rarities, live documents and studio sessions – the fitting reflection of an immense legacy. Limited edition, yet arguably indispensable for any music lover.
