One of the most instrumentally adept yet immensely entertaining pub-rock ensembles, BRINSLEY SCHWARZ didn’t leave proper legacy in terms of concert reports, with only "Live Favourites" crossing the line between bootleg recordings and official releases. That’s why a CD which will appear on April 11th is bound to both emphasize and remedy this issue: it features only the restored audio from the band’s March 6th, 1975 gig in Cologne, while only a small part of the hour-long footage – as the show was filmed for the “Rockpalast” TV programme – survived.
The video’s duration and quality are not good enough to warrant a companion DVD, yet the importance can’t be overestimated, because the group seem to play only a single date after their German outing before they broke up for good – not counting an occasional reunion in the following decades.
