Still doing rounds on both sides of the Atlantic almost fifty years after their start, English pop-punks BUZZCOCKS show no sign of losing the allure the ensemble had at any other point of their career, which is why there’s always interest to the veterans’ concert documents. One of those was issued back in 2003 on DVD hot on the heels of the group’s triumphant show on their home turf, at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on April 27th – but it’s taken the collective another two decades to present both audio and visual versions of that performance
What’s to be released on April 26th under the weird title “Live At The Shepherds Bush Empire 2003” is a double-CD and double-LP sets – available separately – with the DVD capturing the entire performance, interviews with the late Pete Shelley and Steve Diggle who still runs the game, soundcheck and other extras. Spanning the quartet’s entire career to that moment and comprising the staggering 32 cuts, it’s a brilliant memento of the group’s glory which would never get tarnished.
