Given how fantastic they were on-stage, always eager to go off on a tangent, it’s rather surprising that there aren’t many concert documents by CACTUS – although a fair share of those have been issued over the last decades. One such album was “Ultra Sonic Boogie 1971” that preserved for posterity the American foursome’s live performance at the titular studio on November 16th of the titular year – and now another similar tape has found its way to the listener.
Auxiliary Studios 1971
To be released on December 18th, “Auxiliary Studios 1971” represents the quartet’s entire radio gig, available previously on bootlegs. Recorded on October 18th, a month before the aforementioned performance, it’s quite different in terms of track selection. A blistering thing.
