Gregg Allman’s Archival Concert Up For Release

Gregg Allman‘s career outside of his fraternal endeavors may have spanned more than four decades yet, surprisingly, it yielded only two official concert recordings – even though the veteran toured quite a lot for many years. This is why “Uncle Sam’s” – credited to GREGG ALLMAN BAND and documenting his concert at the titular venue in Hull, MA, on July 1st, 1983 – is of historic value. Unfortunately, and even scandalously, it’s far from being a complete recording of that performance.

The disc that will be out on September 20th features a nine-cut selection from, mostly, ABB albums, while Gregg’s solo discography is represented by only a couple of tracks – but what was actually played then had a few more pieces whose exclusion makes this release a bit flawed, if still interesting.

1. Midnight Rider
2. Dreams
3. Sweet Feelin’
4. Hot ‘Lanta
5. Queen Of Hearts
6. Trouble No More
7. Don’t Keep Me Wonderin’
8. Melissa
9. Statesboro Blues
