He always seemed indestructible while build for destruction, but this time what could, and should, have been a rumor is true: Lemmy, the captain of MOTÖRHEAD, has died, aged 70. Ill health of late couldn’t kill his spirit, yet even Lemmy wasn’t able to fight cancer of which the veteran learned only two days before his passing. An avatar of metal, or the heaviest boogie possible, the singing bassist shot to fame with HAWKWIND – delivering “Silver Machine” and laying the foundation for the classics such as "Warrior On The Edge Of Time" – before turning one of their songs into the concept for the band of his own and becoming larger-than-life character. The world is much poorer now that Lemmy’s gone. Rest in peace, gent.
