Linda Gail Lewis Pays Tribute To Brother Jerry Lee

A star in her own right Linda Gail Lewis might have always been overshadowed by her pioneering brother, but those who happened to watch The Killer’s 85th birthday bash could see it was not the clearly ailing Jerry Lee who shone on screen – it was his younger sibling. Linda Gail played a few of his numbers for a long time on a stage; however, she took her brother’s classics to a studio – the legendary Sun Studios – only after the veteran’s passing to release the results on June 2nd.

Titled simply “A Tribute To Jerry Lee Lewis” and featuring the lady’s son-in-law Danny B. Harvey in a guitarist and producer’s role, this platter comprises such gems as “Great Balls Of Fire” and “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Going On” alongside now-poignant cuts like “End Of The Road” on which Linda Gail is also helped by STRAY CATS’ Slim Jim Phantom and her daughter Annie Marie Lewis. Family links don’t end here, though: the album is augmented with a bonus EP where Ms. Lewis duets with her cousin Mickey Gilley – who died in 2022 – so there’s a lot history to delve into and like.
