Scottish finest, NAZARETH are no strangers to a box set treatment – there was “NazBox” out in 2011 – but not on the scale of a presentation that’s to be released September 28th. Titled “Loud & Proud! The Box Set” to distinguish it from an eponymous record, there will be a massive collection – limited to 5,000 units, numbered and, if pre-ordered from the band’s website (that doesn’t seem to serve North America at the moment) until first 500 copies are gone, signed by Pete Agnew and Dan McCafferty. It’s a great celebration of the band’s 50th anniversary, with the box contents going beyond conventional discography, while more concise anthology will be released in 3CD, 2LP and digital formats.
There’s no detailed information on the additional material, yet all in all, the set contains:
– 32 CDs – all 23 studio albums, remastered, two original live albums, 3 discs of singles, EPs, B-sides and bonus tracks, 3 discs of rare and previously unreleased cuts including demos
– four 180g heavyweight vinyl records – “Rampant ” picture disc, “Expect No Mercy” original version, “BBC Rock Hour – Live At Hammersmith Odeon, 16th March 1980” gatefold 2 LPs, “Turn On Your Receiver – The BBC Bob Harris Sessions 1972-74″ gatefold 2LPs
– three bespoke AA-side 7” singles
– 52-page hardback photo book featuring new and previous band interviews, unseen photos and posters
– reproduced memorabilia – 1974 and 1979 tour programmes, 1980 European tour poster, “Bad, Bad Boy” and “Broken Down Angel” lyric sheets, “Rampant” $1 bill sticker
– metal pin badge – custom-made, die-cast skull and wings
