Last year saw a glorious reissue of SOFT CELL‘s debut album, “Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret” from 1981, expanded to a box set to reflect the record’s ever-growing stature – an extensive collection which included live recordings, mostly from the duo’s two-night stand at London’s “Eventim Apollo” in November 2021. Yet, it turns out, that wasn’t the entire concert document of Marc Almond and Dave Ball celebrating the platter’s 40th anniversary, as February 16th will see the release of their full performance.
“Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret …And Other Stories: Live” is to comprise not only the on-stage version of the classic LP delivered in original running order, plus the first and the last songs played during the veterans’ Hammersmith stint; now, there are twice as many tracks, rarities and new pieces among them. spanning two CDs – or two CDs, DVD and Blu-ray, each format presenting the same material, packaged in a box in a special limited edition slipcase. A perfect companion to its predecessor and a reflection of the band’s untainted love for their fans… although true aficionados might have already purchased this in the initial run, the aforementioned street date being its general release.
