A legendary American rock band that many more senior GTA gamers grew up with, Soundgarden, is adored. While the band is no longer in action, they’ll always live on in GTA San Andreas on Radio X. With Rusty Cage being aired on the station as players drive around town, the combination of grunge, punk rock, and metal makes for the energetic musical inclusion many gamers crave when they’re in need of a boost.
Smashing Pumpkins – 1979

For most fans of Smashing Pumpkins, 1979 is one of their very best offerings. As such, it was hardly surprising to see the familiar tune appear in GTA IV on Liberty City Radio. A hypnotic installment from a band with millions of fans behind it, the track’s driving beat and synthesizer layers create a wonderful in-game atmosphere as players aim to please dangerous bosses and make a name for themselves in the title. Overall, 1979’s inclusion is yet another decision that made sense.
Ice Cube – It Was A Good Day
If you’re partial to a bit of old school hip-hop from some of the game’s biggest lyricists, then you might’ve checked out some of Ice Cube’s iconic compositions from over the years. His undeniable talent even saw Rockstar Games feature It Was A Good Day in GTA San Andreas after players switched on Radio Los Santos in their vehicles. Whether you’re cruising along the beachfront or on a mission to survive, this peaceful tune is ideal for the game, especially if you’re feeling the pressure.
