For all the links tying them to KING CRIMSON – Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto having served in the band and Markus Reuter having been part of CRIMSON PROJEkcT – the members of TU-NER were never eager to delve into that legacy in the studio, as opposed to the stage where they played such pieces as “The Construkction Of Light” for a few years now. Still, after defining the trio’s own identity on 2023’s "T-1 Contact Information" and "T-2: For Lovers" from 2024, they decided to present the band’s concert set to the world, on the platter titled “Rendezvous Rodeo” which will be out on July 31st.
“It’s the best live album I have ever been part of,” says about the new record Markus, “I’m very proud of it!” Preserved for posterity on August 15th, 2025 in Brattleboro, Vermont, the sonic document finds the veterans blisteringly take on a few Robert Fripp-related classics, including “Firepower” and “20th Century Dreaming” from his collaboration with David Sylvian, as well as “Cusp” from the STICK MEN repertoire, and a few solo numbers and improvs. So don’t be fooled by its Southern-rock cover – it’s something completely different!
