They may not have issued any recording from the time when Captain Sensible and Chrissie Hynde were in the band, but JOHNNY MOPED seem to go from strength to strength now – been at it ever since their 2011 comeback. Three new studio opuses later, the veterans finally decided to preserve their concert show for posterity and add a second onstage album – the first was “Live In Trafalgar Square 1983” from 2019 – and a few days ago, “Matinee Acoustic Live At The Prince Albert” saw the light of day (pun intended).
Laid down on March 16th, 2025 in Brighton, where the group performed two sets, acoustic and electric, it features the former whose songs come from four of the old punks’ platters, with 2024’s "Quonk!" represented by no less than three cuts. Invigorating!
