THE ANT BAND Reimagine First GENESIS Album

A few years ago an interesting project emerged from Germany – masterminded by sound engineer Tom Morgenstern and dedicated to honoring the music of the great Anthony Phillips, it was, and is named, THE ANT BAND. There were fan favorites and rarities on the collective’s debut, “A Light On The Hill” from 2021 – which even saw Steve Hackett chime in – and 2022’s “Bonus Bits & Blunders” provided a companion piece to that album. Given those were done in pandemic conditions, not a lot of people would bet the Deutsch band would continue – yet they did.

However, “From Genesis To Reimagination” – which will be out on February 13th and is available for pre-order on the ensemble’s Bandcamp – is a slightly different kind of offering. Laid down during a three-year period and accompanied by Ant’s own liner notes, it’s an alternative view of GENESIS first platter, “From Genesis To Revelation” from 1969 – based on the classic’s first master tape, hence the discrepancies in the tracklist with the original record.
