1975 saw EAGLES on the verge of world domination which “Hotel California” would bring about a year later, but when the band released “One Of These Nights” that features such smashes as “Take It to the Limit” and the album’s title track, they already hit the mark of perfection – and now this perfection is to be given a fresh sheen. On April 24th, a deluxe reissue of the classic records will hit the shops, with an entire contemporary concert added to the Don Henley-produced new mix of the well-loved nine pieces.
There are no studio outtakes or work-in-progress recordings – and there were none on the previous remastered edition, out in 2013 – but the stage set includes not only an encore of Chuck Berry’s “Carol” but also “Blackberry Blossom” which the group never recorded, as well as “Rocky Mountain Way” with Joe Walsh who joined the line-up soon after that show. Both studio and concert cuts will be released in triple-vinyl and three-CD versions, although later comes augmented with a Blu-ray comprising hi-res stereo and Atmos variants of everything. It should be noted that, unlike many other similar editions, this one is priced very, very reasonably.
