Bernie Tormé’s Posthumous Live Set To See The Light Of Day

Bernie Tormé‘s untimely passing in March 2019 deprived heavy rock ‘n’ roll of one of its most likeable characters, mostly remembered for the parts he had laid down with the likes of GILLAN and DESPERADO, when serving as a guitar foil for former DEEP PURPLE and TWISTED SISTER singers, as well as, albeit briefly, for Ozzy Osbourne, yet being fully himself only when leading his own band or working, alongside old compadre John McCoy, with G.M.T. whose 2006’s debut "Bitter & Twisted" was fiercely fine, while such his solo opuses as "White Trash Guitar" demonstrated how magnificent the veteran could be in his own element. As if feeling the shortness of time, the Irishman called his 2018 concert trek “The Final Fling Tour” and didn’t really stopped once it was wrapped up: Bernie didn’t think it was okay to have not recorded any of those shows, so he took his road-tested rhythm section, bassist Sy Morton and drummer Mik Gaffney, to his Barnroom studio to deliver a set which will be issued as “Final Fling” on November 25th.

What they delivered in December 2018 on Kent was typical for the trio’s regular night on-stage, even though the addition of a couple of Ozzy cuts seemed not too usual for Tormé, who played a lot of originals spiced up with the songs he co-penned for his previous collectives. The results sound hot, if the “Wild West” single (watch the video below) is anything to come by, with the full album available for pre-order now.
