They both played with THE ROLLING STONES, they both lived in Texas, they both used to have fun, and they died within a day’s span. Yet they were different, American saxophonist Bobby Keys a star accompanist whose credits are aplenty and include former Beatles, and British keyboardist Ian McLagan, a member of SMALL FACES and THE FACES. When Keys didn’t join THE STONES on their current tour of Australia, it was clear something wasn’t right, and he was ill indeed; but Mac’s stroke was unexpected. Much can be said about their contribution to rock ‘n’ roll, yet words wouldn’t be enough to say that. R.I.P., Ian and Bobby.
