It wouldn’t be an underestimation to say that Bootsy Collins is one of the most fantastic bassists the world has ever seen: with a CV to die for, he’s not only a jaw-drop-prompting virtuoso but also a top-notch fun act. That’s why each of the veteran’s records, a rare occasion nowadays – 2011’s “Tha Funk Capital Of The World” being his latest to date – is a sonic fest and a scenic feast. And that’s how “World Wide Funk” will look like. Scheduled for October 27th release, it’s a star-strewn extravaganza featuring a variety of rappers and Buckethead and Eric Gales on guitar, as well as Bootsy’s former colleague from PARLIAMENT/FUNKADELIC, the late great Bernie Worrell, and on one track, Collins’ brothers in bass Stanley Clarke and Victor Wooten.
