Perhaps, it’s not too easy to explain the sonic concept of pub-rock, yet why try to if one can simply put on any platter by BRINSLEY SCHWARZ? Unpretentiousness is rarely as impressively infectious as in this British band’s songs – tightly crammed into the six albums they issued between 1970 and 1974 and one record that saw the release more than a decade later. And now all the material the ensemble recorded will be collected in a box set.
Bearing the title of “Thinking Back: The Anthology 1970-1975” and scheduled to hit the shelves on November 24th, it contains not only all the group’s studio longplays – including "It's All Over Now" that was laid down in 1974 and left to gather dust in the archive – as well as a plethora of rarities, outtakes and concert recordings which make the result irresistible to any aficionado.
