There’s hardly a musician out there who doesn’t have unfinished tracks, either abandoned or waiting to be completed, in their cache, yet some of them have entire albums languishing away. Oftentimes such opuses get dusted off years later, accompanying deluxe editions, but once in a while artists pick up where they stopped and bring their erstwhile creative impetus to a close. That’s what happened to a project Duke Robillard started tinkering with in 2005 for Stony Plain Records only to switch over to something else after laying down nine tracks and remain too busy for two decades to return to the not-forgotten work – until it was time to deliver his last offering to the label.
And finally, August 30th will see the 75-years-old follow up his two 2023 gems – "Six Strings Of Steel" and "A Smooth One" – with “Roll With Me” in which old cuts have been augmented and joined by fresh pieces. Judging by the video below, it should be as robust as any Robillard record.
1. Blue Coat Man
2. Just Kiss Me
3. Are You Going My Way
4. I Know You Love Me
5. Boogie Uproar
6. Look What You Done
7. Built For Comfort
8. My Plea
9. You Got Money
10. Boogie Woogie Country Girl
11. Give Me Back My Money
12. Don’t You Want To Roll With Me
