Eric Clapton Closes On “Something Old, Something New” Album

When it comes to albums of largely original material, “Back Home” was Eric Clapton‘s last offering of the kind, and that record was released back in 2005, and the four platters he issued between then and now, the latest one being “Happy Xmas” from 2018, found the legendary artist mostly covering other people’s material. However, deciding to condense his release calendar, Slowhand is ready to follow up on "To Save A Child" – a concert document which appeared earlier this year – with a studio work. A work partially familiar to his fans.

To be out on digital platforms on October 4th and on CD and vinyl on January 24th, 2025, “Meanwhile” is a collection of eight singles Clapton has been putting out since 2021 – including “Moon River” that features Jeff Beck and “This Has Gotta Stop” with Van Morrison – and six previously unheard numbers. A little lazy on Eric’s part, yet it is what it is.
